Why did you choose to attend Tulane?

I chose to continue my studies at Tulane because of the incredibly rewarding experience I've had throughout my undergraduate years. From the beginning, I've felt welcomed and supported by the faculty and community, which has allowed me to develop meaningful relationships and truly feel at home at Tulane. I feel honored that to have the opportunity to continue exploring my interests in public health at Tulane WSPH. I am excited to grow academically and personally, learn from the faculty around me, and continue to immerse myself in the culture and community of New Orleans!

Why are you interested in volunteering as a student ambassador?

I am interested in volunteering as a WSPH Student Ambassador because I truly believe being able to speak to current students makes it easier for perspective students to discuss any questions or concerns they have. Additionally, as someone who went to Tulane for undergrad I believe I can connect both existing and prospective students to Tulane specific resources that can improve their time at WSPH.

What's your dream job?

My dream job is to work in a leadership role, combining public health, environmental health, and policy to make a positive impact on vulnerable communities. I’m especially interested in working on issues related to environmental health and climate resilience, and how policies can improve health outcomes and access to resources. While I’m still exploring the exact career path I want to take, I know that I want to use my public health education to advocate for healthier, more equitable communities!

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?

I would advise you talk to ask many people as possible who have careers in public health. Reaching out to people who have already done what you're thinking about doing has been so informative, eye opening, and fun! You'll come to realize that many public health professionals don't have one linear path that got them to where they are. You do not have to know exactly what you want to do, and it's okay to change your mind. Just see whats out there!

Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?

In my free time I love to paint, listen to music, and dance with my friends! Lately, I've really been wanting to improve my Spanish. I really want to improve my speaking skills and be able to travel to Spanish-speaking countries and feel comfortable speaking with locals.

What is the best thing about being a student at Tulane thus far?

Meeting all of the professors at Tulane's WSPH has been so fun! You can tell that they truly care about your success and happiness in whatever path you choose. Take some time to get to know them!
