Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
I chose Tulane because of its strong reputation as one of the top public health schools in the country. As someone from Ghana, I was also drawn to New Orleans' warm climate, which felt more familiar and comfortable to me. I also saw the diversity of the student community on the ambassadors' website and this reassured me that I would feel at home here and not out of place.
Why are you interested in volunteering as a student ambassador?
When I was preparing to come to Tulane, a fellow Ghanaian ambassador played a significant role in helping me navigate the process. I would love the opportunity to pay it forward by being able to help someone else going through a similar journey.
What's your dream job?
My dream is to become a cardiologist with a strong focus on preventive cardiovascular research. I am passionate not only about treating heart disease, but about understanding and addressing the factors that cause it in the first place.
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
My first advice would be to get clear on your "why" and understand your motivation for pursuing the degree and what you hope to do with it. A degree in public health is one of the most versatile degrees you can earn so knowing your direction helps you make the most of what it has to offer.
Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?
Playing soccer, swimming, watching movies
