Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
I chose Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine because it offers a strong combination of academic excellence, personal connection, and real-world impact. As a Louisiana native, being able to return home after attending Howard University was very meaningful to me. It allowed me to stay connected to my community while continuing my education. Tulane is also recognized as a top program for public health, especially in areas like epidemiology, which made it an ideal place for me to develop the skills I need for my future career. Beyond academics, what really stood out to me is the opportunity to apply what I learn in a city like New Orleans. The rich culture, history, and diversity of New Orleans create a unique environment to study public health, especially when addressing health disparities and working with underserved communities.

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
I would advise them to manage their time effectively and approach public health with an open mind. It’s important to understand that health outcomes can vary across different populations, so being adaptable and willing to learn from diverse perspectives is key.
