Biography

Tuan C. Nguyen is a Doctor of Public Health student in the Leadership in Social and Behavioral Sciences program at the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. He is an occupational health and safety professional with extensive experience leading health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs within large-scale industrial and energy operations. His work has focused on exposure assessment, hazard control, regulatory compliance, and the advancement of organizational safety culture.

Tuan’s doctoral interests center on workplace wellness, health equity, and leadership-driven organizational change. He is particularly interested in examining how workplace health and well-being programs are designed, implemented, and evaluated, and how these programs influence employee health outcomes, equity, and healthcare utilization. Through his doctoral training, he seeks to strengthen the translation of public health leadership, advocacy, and equity frameworks into occupational and organizational health practice.

In addition to his doctoral studies, Tuan remains actively engaged in professional service and leadership within the occupational health community. His career reflects a commitment to practice-based scholarship and applied leadership, with the goal of advancing healthier, safer, and more equitable work environments.
