Each trainee receiving stipend support from grant funds must be a citizen of the United States, a non-citizen national, or a foreign national having in his/her possession a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States. The funded period is anticipated to start September 1, 2009. Please note, however, that it is contingent upon the grant award from HRSA/MCHB. Stipends of $12,500 for doctoral students with an MCH/Epi dissertation focus Eligibility criteria for a $12,500 stipend: Enrolled in a doctoral program at Tulane SPHTM Successful completion of doctoral comprehensive examination Dissertation area highly relevant for MCH Epidemiology Ability to finalize the Doctoral dissertation by the end of August 2010
Applications should include: Transcript of courses taken A two-page summary of dissertation topic Letter showing the ability to finalize the defense of the dissertation within one year after receiving the stipend Letter from Advisor or Doctoral Committee Chair that states support and commitment as a mentor, as well as belief in the candidate’s potential and ability to complete the suggested dissertation within one year
