Master of Public Health & Tropical Medicine
Degree Requirements The MPH&TM degree requires 42 credits of course work, which can normally be completed in one year. Students must complete core courses required by the School, but the core course in Health and Human Disease is waived for MPH&TM students because of the prior medical background required for admission to the program. Other requirements include completion of the MPH&TM Specialty Requirements, an approved Practicum (minimum 200 contact hours), and an approved Culminating experience. Information on the latter two requirements is available from the Academics/Handbooks and Guides section of the SPHTM website (Student Handbook, Practicum Handbook, and Public Health Analysis Outline [for Culminating Experience]).
