
The Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences delegation with Dr. Maureen Lichtveld, Chair for Departmnt of Global Environmental Health Sciences.
A Chinese delegation from Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) visited the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM) in November 2011. The delegation was led by the leader of Shandong Academy of Occupational Health and Occupational Medicine, which is part of SAMS. The purpose of this visit is to seek collaborations between SAMS and SPHTM. There were five members in the delegation who are occupational health experts in Shandong Province of China. During the visit, the delegation met senior associate dean, Dr LuAnn White and associate dean Jeffery Johnson of SPHTM. Dr Maureen Lichtveld, Chair for Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences hosted the delegation. The delegation members also had meetings with faculty members in the Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences. Both sides showed interest in collaborations between the two institutions in teaching and research. To proceed, Dr Litchveld is currently leading faculty members in her department to develop a memorandum of understanding for future collaborations.
