"It will be a huge party, and in New Orleans we know how to throw a party," said Dean Pierre Buekens the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
"You can't miss this event," Dean Buekens told a group of alumni assembled at the school's reception in conjunction with the meeting. "Our centennial is a milestone in global public health education."
The School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine offers graduate degrees in seven different disciplines as well as an undergraduate bachelor's degree in public health. More than 1,300 students from over 50 different countries are currently enrolled. The school is accredited by the Council on Education of Public Health, a distinction it has held for 62 years.
Tulane's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine was the first school of public health in the country and is the only U.S. school of tropical medicine.
