Global Health Programs
As the oldest school of public health in the country and the only American school of tropical medicine, our mission is to advance public health knowledge, promote health and well-being, and prevent disease, disability, and premature mortality.
This is accomplished through academic excellence in the education of public health professionals, rigorous scientific research of public health problems, creative partnerships to advance the practice of public health, and innovative service to the local, national, and international public health community.

Departments
A leader in global health, the school is comprised of six academic departments: biostatistics and bioinformatics, global community health sciences, global environmental health sciences, epidemiology, global health systems management and development, and tropical medicine.

Programs and Degrees
Educational programs at the school prepare students for one of the many exciting career opportunities available to public health professionals. Students can pursue the master of public health (MPH), master of science in public health (MSPH), master of health administration (MHA), master of public health and tropical medicine (MSPH), doctor of philosophy (PhD), doctor of public health (DrPH), and doctor of science (ScD). The school also offers residency, certificate and dual degree programs.

Distance Learning
The Center for Applied Environmental Public Health is a multidisciplinary center focusing on occupational and environmental public health. CAEPH directs and coordinates major applied research projects and professional education programs offered via state-of-the-art distance learning technologies.

Centers and Institutes
Along with our own prestigious research centers and institutes, the school enjoys reciprocal relationships with other Tulane units, including the School of Medicine, the Tulane Regional Primate Research Center, the Center for Infectious Diseases, the Tulane/Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research, and the Mary Amelia Douglas-Whited Community Women's Health Education Center.
