Peace Corps/Master's International Program
More than 230 Peace Corps volunteers have been placed in 32 developing countries since the program's inception at Tulane in 1988. It is the largest of its kind in the United States. Students simultaneously apply to Tulane and the Peace Corps, obtaining their master of science in public health degree (MSPH) or master of public health degree (MPH) with 42 academic credits and successful Peace Corps service.

The U.S. Peace Corps and Tulane University have partnered to promote international opportunities to Louisiana residents by creating a satellite office in New Orleans. The office, being sponsored by the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, serves as a resource center for applicants.

MD/MPH Program
The MD/MPH program is designed for Tulane Medical students who want to complete a public health degree in addition to their medical degree in four years.

Preventive Medicine Residency for Physicians

The SPHTM is a partner in the preventive medicine residency offered by the Tulane School of Medicine.  The preventive medicine residency is designed to train residents for careers in academic, administrative, and /or clinical preventive medicine/public health. The two-year program is designed to fulfill requirements leading to certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Preventive medicine residents enroll in the MPH at SPHTM to fulfill their academic requirements.

Tulane also offers the Global Health Certificate Program, preparing graduate students to work in diverse settings and with diverse populations on health issues that transcend borders.
