Six doctoral students have been honored with the Dean's Research Council Scholarships from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. The scholarships are provided each year in recognition of excellence among doctoral applicants. Students requesting admission to the PhD, the ScD, and the DrPH programs are eligible. Applications are made through January.

The current recipients are Mark Wilson, Joann Lee, Deepali Godha, Tanika Kelly, Lauren Nagy, and Megan Littrell.

Mark Wilson, recipient and nominee from the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, received his MSPH degree from Tulane in 2005. Since completing his master's work, Wilson has worked as a graduate fellow at LSU's Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.

The Department of Health Systems Management nominated Deepali Godha to the award. Godha earned an MBBS degree from the MGM Medical College in India and comes to Tulane to further her training in public health.

Recipient from the Department of International Health and Development, Megan Littrell previously earned a joint MPH/MSW degree from Tulane and has worked on the MEASURE Evaluation projects through the School of Public Health. Her current research interests include measures of youth health and well being.

Lauren Nagy is the recipient and nominee from the Department of Tropical Medicine. Earlier this year, she finished a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin.
