The Maternal & Child Health Leadership Training Program seeks to improve the global health status of women, infants, children, youth and their families, in accordance with the HRSA Maternal and Child Health Bureau Title V Program. Encouraging the development of both current and future MCH leaders, the program stresses cultural competency and diversity while enhancing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of students and professionals in Louisiana. Program goals include:

  • Developing and providing innovative leadership and career development training for students, public health professionals, and faculty
  • Integrating key principles of public health practice into teaching, research and service
  • Conducting research and research training
  • Strengthening partnerships with the community and MCH agencies through mutually beneficial service and collaborations
