Allied Health Opportunities
Online directory for healthcare professionals with job listings for dietitians. Includes a link to Today's Dietician an online magazine for nutrition professionals, which also includes an online job bank.

American Diabetes Association
ADA funds research, publishes scientific findings, provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, health care professionals and the public and advocates for scientific research and for the rights of people with diabetes. Jobs are listed by region.

American Dietetic Association
Gives an overview on Careers in Dietetics, Accreditation and Credentialing and Employment Opportunities with the association.

American Society for Clinical Nutrition
Offers awards for nutrition physicians and an internship program for medical students.

American Society for Nutritional Sciences
Research society dedicated to improving the quality of life through the science of nutrition by:  fostering and enhancing research in animal and human nutrition; providing opportunities for sharing peer-reviewed nutrition research results; fostering quality education and training in nutrition; upholding standards for ethical behavior in research; providing opportunities for fellowship and support among nutritionists; and bringing scientific knowledge to bear on nutrition issues through communication and influence in the public domain. Employment opportunities are listed.

California WIC
WIC is the federally funded Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program for income eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and children under five who have a nutritional need. Site includes job information.

Center for Science in the Public Interest
CSPI is a national consumer organization that focuses on health and nutrition issues.  Internships are offered for a small number of students year round.  Projects change but may include public policy and nutrition or alcohol, food safety, marketing, technology, legal affairs, fundraising and communications.

Department of Health and Human Services
Links users to DHHS employment listings via hotlinks to individual agency job posting sites including the Food and Drug Administation, Health Resources and Services Administration, Indian Health Service and the National Institutes of Health. Also provides links to internships, fellowship and summer programs in DHHS agencies. Like many government sites it isn't really pretty to look at, but the content is extremely valuable if you are seeking employment in a federal government agency.

Indian Health Service
IHS is an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives.  The site is very easy to use through graphic presentations.  While health professional jobs are divided into easy to understand categories, the descriptions of the jobs are minimal.

One of 8 health agencies of the Public Health Service and comprised of 25 separate institutes and centers.  Its goal is to acquire new knowledge to help prevent, detect, diagnose and treat disease and disability through research.  The site is easy to explore and also lists training and internship opportunities.

Public Health Prevention Service (PHPS)
A unique three-year on-the-job national training program offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is an extremely strong program for recent MPH graduates looking to get direct public health experience at both national and the state/local health agency levels. The site itself is one of the better designed of its type that we have reviewed. The information is presented clearly, it is easy to understand and there is a strong Q & A section as well as most everything you'll need to know about this program. Excellent site and an outstanding program!

State Health Agencies on the Web
When you arrive at this site you will be greeted with a list of hot links to public health agency websites. Some of these agencies have employment links which are easy to find and relevant. Others have links which are buried while some have no employment links at all. You'll have to do a little work to get what you need from this site, but it is a great jumping off point. This site is brought to you by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. It also features a listing of public health links which may yield some job prospects with some patience, critical thinking and investigation on the part of the user.

United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was founded in 1945 with a mandate to raise levels of nutrition and standards of living, to improve agricultural productivity, and to better the condition of rural populations worldwide.

U.S. Government official site for jobs and employment information.

US Agency for International Development
Lists internships (the extended type for those who have completed at least a bachelor's degree) and job vacancies. Describes programs and openings in a comprehensive way. Some good opportunities here for recent graduates.
