Personal Statement:
Ann Butcher's current research interests focus on visual impairment and blindness and the development of resource networks. She also conducts research on job satisfaction and its effect in the workplace. She previously served as instructor in medicine at LSU School of Medicine, adjunct instructor in education in the Tulane Department of Education, and has practiced nursing in the private sector. Butcher currently is working as director of Services for the Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans as part of a funded Lighthouse/Tulane Project. She has been actively involved with the public health system, assisting the Louisiana Office of Public Health to evaluate quality and access to care in Medicaid Managed Care programs.
