Dr. Hays spent a decade as a university professor in the Graduate School of Business at Tulane University where he taught organizational change and management policy. He has published two books and numerous articles on organizational effectiveness and continues to teach in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. He has served as President and CEO of First Commerce Service Corporation and Executive Vice President of First Commerce Corporation, a four billion dollar bank holding company. He has also applied his organizational experience as Associate Superintendent and Chief Financial and Business Officer for Sarasota County Public Schools. He has served as organizational effectiveness consultant to many major corporations including Exxon-Mobil, Martin Marietta, Gulf Oil, Hilton Corporation, and Exxon International. Dr. Hays has skippered his own sailboat through over 25,000 miles of saltwater and he set the official United States transcontinental aviation speed record soloing an antique open-cockpit biplane from San Diego to Jacksonville. Dr. Hays is delighted to be married to Dr. Joni Steinberg, a professor at Tulane University. They have two wonderful sons enrolled in the Sarasota County Public Schools.
