Accreditation Information The Department of Health Systems Management (HSM) at Tulane University develops managers and leaders to serve the complex needs of the health services industry and of public health and community organizations both domestically and abroad. Our emphasis on the practitioner-scholar model links management theory to practice through relationships with organizations engaged in health services delivery and in public health. Our innovative programs make us a recognized leader in healthcare management education. Graduate degrees in health administration have been awarded by the University since 1971. The HSM department has been formally organized in Tulane's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine since 1973 and continuously accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) for more than 30 years. HSM is also a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), which helps establish the standards by which all programs in health administration are measured. Our programs are designed to fit the needs of individual students while preparing them to meet the management and leadership challenges healthcare professionals face today. |
