Poster title: Efficiency of Health System and Achievement of Child Health Related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) - Evidence from India

The Eta Chapter sponsors an annual poster competition. The contest is open to all SPHTM students, including students in joint degree and executive or distance programs.

The winner and runner-up are awarded a cash prize and are recognized at a reception following the poster contest. Contestants receive an offiical certificate of honorable mention.

The winning poster is also submitted for consideration to the poster contest at the national organization level (see below).

The Delta Omega national organization sponsors an annual student poster sessionthrough the Academic Public Health Caucus during the annual meeting, which is ususally held in November (APHA Conference).

The poster session showcases the excellent scholarship and research of students of schools of public health. Students whose work is selected will receive a $250 cash prize as well as the opportunity to present their work during the APHA meeting. 

Eta Chapter Poster Contest Guidelines:

  • The poster should be no larger than 5'x7' and no push pins, velcro only.
  • The poster topic should be on a public health related subject.
  • The poster should be based on research already conducted by the student rather than a proposal for future research. Only student work that is completed or near completion will be considered by the review committee.
  • The poster should demonstrate good research design.
  • The poster should demonstrate, if necessary, the use of appropriate data analyses to test the hypothesis.
  • Judging components will include the following criteria:
    • Importance to public health and originality
    • Appropriateness of methods
    • Evidence of supporting data
    • Philosophy and theory
    • Quality and clarity of presentation
