Mission
The Center's mission is to promote and support evidence-based research addressing today's most critical global health issues.
Goal
To promote the use of randomized controlled trials as a method of evaluation for clinical and population-based global health interventions.
Objectives
- To provide methodological expertise in designing, conducting and analyzing trials through the establishment of a Tulane core faculty and an international team of experts. The Center places a special emphasis on the methodology of cluster randomization and practical trials.
- To offer administrative and logistical support in writing proposals and coordinating international trials.
- To facilitate multidisciplinary and international research by developing a global network of partners and field research units.
- To stimulate ideas and discussion on randomized trials in global health research, including priorities and methodological and ethical issues, through the creation of a seminar series and thematic workshops.
