Personal Statement:
My research interests are in cardiovascular risk factors and risk behaviors for children and adolescents. In this regard, I am interested in describing the prevalence and incidence in various populations, in identifying correlates of these risk factors and risk behaviors, and in studying the trends over time (tracking) of these factors. I am also interested in population interventions related to healthy eating and exercise behaviors. This has led to developing research designs that are relevant for behavioral interventions, particularly group-randomized designs. I am also interested in developing the capacity for a data-coordinating center for multi-site studies here at Tulane.
