Characteristic of the lore and legend of New Orleans, images of the French Quarter are certainly well known throughout the world. Students of the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine do live in the Quarter, despite its tendency toward higher rents. They cite its proximity to the Tidewater Building as an advantage: it's walkable and bikeable, they say. One student describes it as "socially convenient" and mentions its "historic, hidden places and courtyards" as reasons to live there. Take note: tourists abound year round. | |
