 | Training Health Promotion Practicum Program Each semester, the PRC offers practicum opportunities for exceptional students. Past internships have been hosted by the East Jefferson Parish YMCA, Second Harvest Foodbank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana, Office of Recovery and Development Administration, Steps to a Healthier LA/New Orleans, the Renaissance Project, YMCA of Greater New Orleans, Women with a Vision, the New Orleans Food and Farm Network, and KaBOOM! Currently, the program requires students to work a total of 300 hours, which can fulfill both the 200-hour practicum and 100-hour culminating experience requirements. Students are encouraged to check with their advisor and their department requirements before applying. Learn how four interns were rewarded for their hard work. The program is generally announced at the end of each semester for the following semester. The program is also announced via Tulane SPHTM listservs and through elevator notices.

Communication Series Together with the Maternal and Child Public Health Leadership Training Program, the PRC provides a series of communications workshops for public health students. The series presents material on communications topics such as newsletters, websites, policy briefs, fact sheets, and new media. Through the series, we expose students to the types of communications they will be involved in as part of their public health career.
