Health Promotion Practicum Program

Each semester, the PRC offers practicum opportunities for exceptional students.  Past internships have been hosted by the East Jefferson Parish YMCA, Second Harvest Foodbank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana, Office of Recovery and Development Administration, Steps to a Healthier LA/New Orleans, the Renaissance Project, YMCA of Greater New Orleans, Women with a Vision, the New Orleans Food and Farm Network, and KaBOOM!

Currently, the program requires students to work a total of 300 hours, which can fulfill both the 200-hour practicum and 100-hour culminating experience requirements.  Students are encouraged to check with their advisor and their department requirements before applying. For more information on how the program works in the department of Community Health Sciences, please click here.

PRC Practicum Interns have been successful in their positions.  Learn how four interns were rewarded for their hard work

The program is generally announced at the end of each semester for the following semester.  The program is also announced via Tulane SPHTM listservs and through elevator notices.
