Prevention Research Prevention Research Prevention Research Centers are funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Our cooperative agreement # is UP48 DP000047. The program's 33 centers function as a network of academic researchers, public health agencies, and community members, conducting applied research in disease prevention and control. Active Living Active living is a way of life that integrates physical activity into daily routines. The following links are organizations funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundationthat conduct research and promote ways to help Americans return to this type of lifestyle. Active Living by Design encourages increasing physical activity through community design. Leadership for Healthy Communities promotes policies and programs that will improve access to affordable healthy foods and increase opportunities for safe physical activity. Active Living Network is no longer active, but the archived site provides a wealth of information on organizations across the country that are promoting active living in cities, schools, neighborhoods, and states. Active Living Resource Center provides technical assistance to create active communities.
