Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design In March of 2007, the Prevention Research Center invited Art Hushen of the National Institute of Crime Prevention to explain the principals of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED, pronounced sep-ted). Center for Applied Environmental Health The mission of the Center for Applied Environmental Public Health (CAEPH) is to advance the science of environmental public health by conducting research to solve occupational and environmental health problems, linking and translating research to environmental health practice, and providing education and training to occupational and environmental public health professionals. This is accomplished through an interdisciplinary, collaborative, population-based approach, and by incorporating innovative technology as tool to advance environmental public health research and education.
