Current Sponsored Research Projects Hewlett Foundation Dates: January 2000 to current Funding Source: Hewlett Foundation Tulane's Role: Recipient of these grant funds Region: Global Principal Investigator: Anastasia Gage, PhD
The Hewlett funding provides the Department of International Health and Development with institutional support for its reproductive health programs. These funds are being used to fund partial scholarships at the doctoral level, a post-doc fellowship in reproductive health research, and university linkages. Under the Hewlett funding, the Department has developed a lecture series that has attracted top reproductive health practitioners to the campus to share experiences with students and faculty. In addition, faculty are developing a new two-course series in Population and Environment, one of which will be held in Guatemala. This type of unrestricted funding is extremely useful to strengthening the ongoing academic program in reproductive health. |
