DrPH in Global Environmental Health Sciences

Upon graduation students should be able to employ scientific principles and managerial skills as well as demonstrate specialized expertise in their chosen area of concentration.  At the completion of the following programs, the student will be able to:

Sustainable Resource Management

  • Provide technical input for policy formation and legislation relative to water quality and sustainability, standards and criteria development .
  • Perform fate evaluation of compounds which are toxic with respect to chemical, physical and biological interactions.

Environmental Health for Developing Countries

  • Apply basic environmental health skills to the needs of developing countries.
  • Utilize scientific principles and appropriate methodology for assessment, prevention and control of environmental health problems that occur as developing countries move towards a more industrialized based.

Disaster Management

  • Discuss the specific environmental health implications of a terrorist attack and other disasters on global scale.
  • Develop and implement response and recovery plans for disasters according to the guide lines of local, national and international agencies.
