Personal Statement:
Dr. Begalieva serves as a liaison between LOPH and Tulane University School of Public Health to coordinate collaborative efforts in public health practice; manages all aspects of the Tulane/LOPH Internship Program. This includes, but is not limited to the linking of SPHTM students with appropriate placement opportunities within Louisiana Office of Public Health (LOPH) and other agencies; conducting numerous pre- and post-placement activities; providing direct on-site supervision of all intern activities; consulting with program staff for necessary evaluation statements/activities; providing student consultations and problem solving related to internships at the LOPH; and directing the College Work-Study Program at LOPH for Public Health interns.
Dr. Begalieva co-manages the South Central IMPACT (Interns and Mentors Program for ACTion) in Public Health Preparedness that involves the State Agencies of the South Central Region (Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi).
Dr. Begalieva co- teaches a core course SPHL 601: Biological Basis of Health and Disease.
