The director of CAEPH. She is a toxicologist and a leader in developing models for environmental health training and education programs that use training as a preventive strategy. The programs include evaluation components for updating and improving education and training. She has developed a skills-based approach for designing curricula for environmental health practice professionals and has established graduate programs in environmental toxicology, risk assessment, and occupational health. She has also instituted an off-campus graduate program in industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety management using distance learning technology. Her work focuses on the prevention of adverse health effects in humans from environmental and occupational agents. Her research centers on applying public health methodologies and various technologies to environmental and occupational problems. Dr. White is a diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology, a member of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry board of scientific counselors, and is the author of numerous articles in environmental public health.
