A physician from Bangladesh, Shahed received his MPH in epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health in 2002 and is currently a doctoral student in the department of epidemiology. Shahed is the Project Coordinator for the New Orleans Healthy Homes Initiative Project and is also working as a research analyst for the Environmental Public Health Tracking Program and the Lead Intervention Study. In areas of interest include environmental epidemiology and translation of research into practice, with future interest in policy and planning.
