Two Distance Learning Students Nominated to the Delta Omega
Honorary Society in Public Health
Michael Herges and Linda Weitzel have been nominated in the
Environmental Health Sciences to become members of the Delta
Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. To be elected to the honor
society a student must be in the top 25% in class standing and
demonstrate real or potential qualities of leadership in public

Dr. Nirbhay Kumar has been selected as the new chair of the
department of tropical medicine at the Tulane University School
of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, effective January 2010.
He replaces acting chair Dr. Richard Oberhelman. For more information
