Can I transfer credits from another university?
While Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine allows for the transfer of  up to 10 graduate credits from accredited graduate programs, the curriculum for each of the three distance learning programs is very full of requirements, with little room for transfer credits. Requests for the transfer of credit into the program will be reviewed on a case by case basis. The transfer of credit will not necessarily substitute for programmatic courses or reduce the number of programmatic requirements. If a transfer of a public health core course is made, approval for transfer of the course is given only by the department responsible for that course. The approval is not automatic.

To transfer a course for credit, the student must submit the following:

  1. a course transfer of credit form, (and a core course waiver form if applicable)
  2. an official transcript showing a grade of B or higher (B- not accepted) for the course to be transferred
  3. an official description of the course from a school catalog indicating the course number demonstrating it is graduate level, and
  4. a copy of the course syllabus.
The forms may be obtained from http://www.sph.tulane.edu/admissions/forms.htm
